South African motorists face a potentially difficult September 2026, with early fuel-price data pointing to increases across petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin. Current projections indicate petrol 93 could rise by around 40 cents per litre, while 95 petrol may increase by approximately 51 cents. Diesel users face a much sharper increase, with 0.05% diesel projected to rise by about R3.11 per litre and 0.005% diesel by around R3.22. These figures remain estimates and can change before the official announcement. International oil prices, refined-product costs and the rand-dollar exchange rate will continue influencing the final September fuel prices.
